A NATIONAL MOVEMENT ROOTED LOCALLY

Community foundations began more than a century ago with the pioneering Cleveland Foundation, established in 1914 by banker Frederick Harris Goff. Today, more than 700 community foundations are active across the United States, each focused on improving the needs of its unique region.

OUR STORY

BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Founded in 1998 as the Georgetown Area Community Foundation, we have spent more than 25 years building bridges between local donors and nonprofits in Georgetown and Williamson County. During that time, we became known as the Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation. While that chapter reflected our growth, our original name has always best represented the place and people we serve.

Now, we are proudly returning to our original name, Georgetown Area Community Foundation, to better reflect the place and peoples we serve.

MISSION

Fostering Georgetown-area philanthropy by bridging donors to nonprofits with solutions that meet our community’s needs.

PURPOSE & PRESENCE

As a trusted local partner, we facilitate impactful giving that enriches lives, strengthens nonprofits, and builds a stronger future for Georgetown and the surrounding communities.
